Dr. Gary Miller is a Professor of Environmental Health Sciences and currently serves as Vice Dean for Research Strategy and Innovation at the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University. He is a DSI Member and leads academic initiatives in exposome research, environmental health, and neurodegeneration.
Dr. Miller’s research focuses on environmental drivers of neurodegenerative diseases, leveraging advanced methodologies such as transgenic mouse models, metabolomics, and high-resolution mass spectrometry. He pioneered the HERCULES Exposome Research Center at Emory University, the first U.S. exposome-focused center, and authored The Exposome: A Primer. His work integrates multi-omics data to uncover links between environmental exposures and diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
