Gary MacGillivray is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria (UVic). He holds credentials including B.Sc., M.Sc. (UVic), and Ph.D. (Simon Fraser University). His research focuses on algorithmic complexity in combinatorial problems, dynamic processes on graphs, mathematics in sports, and mathematics education. He is actively involved in teaching courses such as Geometry, Discrete Mathematics, and seminars on independent projects.

Research Interests:
- Algorithmic and complexity issues in graph colourings/homomorphisms and graph domination.

- Improving student success in university-level mathematics and curriculum development.
