Gary Fleischman is a Professor of Accounting at Texas Tech University's Rawls College of Business, where he has served as co-advisor for the Accounting PhD program and PhD Coordinator (2017-2024). With over 34 years of teaching experience, he previously taught at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (1995–2000) and the University of Wyoming (2000–2013). Fleischman has received 27 teaching/research awards, including two since joining Texas Tech.
His research focuses on ethics, taxation, and accounting, with 16 publications in Financial Times Top 50 journals and 2,700+ Google Scholar citations. He contributes to the Journal of Business Ethics and Issues in Accounting Education as a reviewer. Key interests include ethical leadership, earnings management, and corporate social responsibility.
Fleischman's work bridges accounting practices with ethical decision-making, addressing topics like cybersecurity investment, workplace bullying, and managerial responses to revenue declines.
