Garth Frazer is an Associate Professor at the Department of Management, University of Toronto, with a focus on Business Economics and Public Policy. He is also affiliated with the International Growth Centre (IGC) Trade Research Group.
- Education: B.Math from University of Waterloo, M.A. from University of Toronto, Ph.D. from Yale University.
His research spans trade and industrial development in Africa, analyzing impacts of trade agreements, productivity measurement, and policy advising for African governments. He has conducted fieldwork in Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, and Zambia.
Recent publications include econometric studies on production functions and empirical analyses of trade policies under frameworks like the African Growth and Opportunity Act. His work also addresses apparel production challenges in Africa and firm exit dynamics in Ghanaian manufacturing.
He serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of African Economies, contributing to academic discourse on African economic issues.
