Dr. Garth Christensen serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Long Island University's School of Health Professions, joining the DPT Program in 2019 with over 10 years of combined clinical and academic experience.
His educational background includes:
- DPT from Stony Brook University
- MPT from Hunter College
- MS in Taxation from Drexel University
- BS in Business Administration from College of William and Mary
Specializing in upper extremity management and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), Dr. Christensen holds Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) certification since 2015 and completed a Kaiser Permanente residency program. His research focuses on pain neuroscience education, health promotion, and hand therapy applications.
