Garo Saraydarian is a Lecturer in the Department of Music at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he teaches musicianship and music theory. Additionally, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Harmony department at Berklee College of Music, an instructor in the Transformative Education department at Boston College, and contributes to the music education and theory programs at the Longy School of Music, where he has developed inclusive curricula.

His research focuses on music education through historical, cognitive, and cross-cultural pedagogical methodologies, alongside descriptive review and philosophy of education. He explores technology-enhanced musical learning and has recently delved into Carnatic music and oud performance.
