Gareth T. Richards is a full-time Lecturer in Religious Studies and Philosophy at Coleg Gwent, Wales, while pursuing a part-time PhD in Science & Religion at the University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on reconciling belief in God with mass-extinction events and explores theological implications of de-extinction technologies.

Research interests include mass-extinctions, catastrophism, theology and evolution, theodicy, and de-extinction ethics. He co-authored educational resources for the Christian Ethics of Farmed Animal Welfare (CEFAW) project, set for 2025 publication alongside a companion article in RE Today.
