Gareth Robinson

Gareth Robinson is a Research Fellow at Queen’s University Belfast, affiliated with Queen’s Communities and Place (QCAP) and the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work. His work focuses on inclusive education, urban futures, and community empowerment, particularly in underserved working-class communities. He leads projects on school exclusion disparities (ESRC-funded Excluded Lives) and the Shared Education model.

Education:

• PhD in Social Sciences (2016), supervised by Dr. A Gallagher and Dr. H McAneney.

Research Interests:

• Transformative education for urban communities.
• School networks, collaboration, and improvement.
• Education in divided societies and conflict zones.
• Civic engagement in urban innovation.

• Belfast Community Research & Innovation Network (BCRIN) (2025–ongoing).
• Smart City-zens (2023–2024), exploring urban innovation and data-driven solutions.
