Gaole He is a visiting PhD researcher associated with Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) and hosted by CIRES at The University of Queensland (UQ) from February to April 2024. Collaborating with Professor Gianluca Demartini, his research focuses on enhancing human-work efficiency through Large Language Models (LLMs) and optimizing workflows. Gaole is supervised by Assistant Professor Ujwal Gadiraju at Delft University.
His collaboration resulted in a paper accepted at the ACM CHI 2025 conference, the premier international forum for Human-Computer Interaction. The work, titled "Plan-Then-Execute: An Empirical Study of User Trust and Team Performance When Using LLM Agents As A Daily Assistant," highlights his contributions to understanding human-AI collaboration dynamics.
At CIRES and UQ, Gaole engaged with diverse research groups, participated in seminars and workshops, and explored interdisciplinary approaches to data and computation. He also noted the vibrant living environment at UQ, including lakeside walks, Brisbane’s climate, and opportunities for cultural exchange.
