Gannit Ankori is Professor of Fine Arts and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Brandeis University, serving as Henry and Lois Foster Director and Chief Curator of the Rose Art Museum. Her scholarship spans modern/contemporary global art, focusing on gender, nationalism, identity, trauma, and disability in creative practices.
Education:
- Ph.D. and B.A. from Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Her research bridges Frida Kahlo studies, Israeli/Palestinian art, and theoretical frameworks like postcolonialism and feminism. Recent curatorial projects include Frida Kahlo: Pose (2021-2022) and Displaced: Raida Adon's Strangeness (2022). Her publications analyze intersections of art, identity, and politics.
