معرفی
Gamaletsos Platon is an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Crete (TUC), affiliated with the School of Mineral Resources Engineering. His research focuses on geochemistry, mineralogy, and nanogeoscience with applications in environmental science and sustainable resource management. He specializes in studying mineral systems, including bauxite residues, rare earth elements (REE), and hydrothermal processes. His work addresses critical challenges like red mud valorization and REE recovery from natural resources.
Key research interests include:
- Geochemical characterization of ore deposits and industrial byproducts
- Nano-mineralogical analysis of critical raw materials
- Environmental implications of mining activities
- Hydrothermal systems and marine geochemistry
- Development of sustainable industrial processes for metal recovery
Recent publications highlight studies on isotopic analysis of Greek ecosystems, structural state of REEs in eudialyte-group minerals, and low-temperature valorization of bauxite residue. His work bridges fundamental geoscience with applied solutions for resource efficiency and environmental protection.
Platon collaborates internationally and maintains a professional profile on LinkedIn. His office is located in the MRED Building (M2.012) at TUC, where he contributes to academic and technical services in mineral resources engineering.
