Galen Hutcheson

Galen Hutcheson serves as Associate Faculty and Internship Instructor in the MEd School Counselling Program, leveraging over 20 years of experience as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Art Therapist in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her practice spans schools, community health organizations, correctional facilities, and businesses with a focus on compassionate, strength-based interventions.

She received the 2020 Hidden Hero Award from Hon Joyce Murray MP for her advocacy work.

As an Internship Instructor, she mentors graduate students in school counselling through experiential learning, emphasizing developmental attachment theory, mindfulness, and art-based therapeutic approaches within unceded Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh territories.
