Gail M Jensen is a Professor of Physical Therapy at Creighton University's School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, and serves as Vice Provost for Learning and Assessment. She holds a PhD in educational evaluation from Stanford University, alongside master's and bachelor's degrees in physical therapy and education. Her research focuses on expert practice, clinical reasoning, professional ethics, and interprofessional education. Dr. Jensen has authored over 90 peer-reviewed publications and 14 books, including seminal works on clinical reasoning and health professions education.
Her academic leadership includes roles as Dean Emerita and key contributions to national studies on physical therapist education. Notable awards include the APTA's Golden Pen Award, Mary McMillan Lecturer distinction, and the Polly Cerasoli Lectureship. She chairs APTA’s Ethics and Judicial Committee, emphasizing ethical practice and professional integrity.
Research highlights include a National Study of Excellence in Physical Therapist Education, exploring clinical reasoning pedagogy, and advancing interprofessional collaboration. Grants funded projects on rehabilitation ethics, clinical education partnerships, and residency training outcomes.
