Gail Forey

Gail Forey is Professor and Associate Dean (Education) at the University of Bath's Department of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, with additional affiliation to the Centre for Qualitative Research. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics and serves as External Examiner for Cardiff University and British University of Dubai.

Her research centers on:

• Disciplinary literacy and corpus-based pedagogy
• Systemic functional linguistics and discourse analysis
• Digital workplace communication and AI-human interaction
• Language education and teacher development

Recent publications show strong interdisciplinary focus, combining linguistic analysis with applications in cultural studies (museum reviews), hospitality management (hotel complaints), AI (language model standardization), and foundational educational pedagogy (SFL metalanguage).
