Gaia Taffoni

Gaia Taffoni is a Research Fellow at the European University Institute's Florence School of Transnational Governance, where she teaches Policy Evaluation in CIVICA’s joint master course and develops innovative teaching methodologies. She holds a PhD in Political Science (2019) from Università Statale of Milano.

Her research focuses on regulatory governance, evidence-based policy, and anticipatory governance. She leads the RegTrust project with the University of Lausanne, analyzing regulatory procedures' impact on trust in fintech, and contributes to the ESPAS Horizon Scanning project on foresight methodologies. Her work appears in journals such as the Policy Study Journal, Journal of European Public Policy, and European Policy Analysis Journal, including a Palgrave Macmillan monograph on EU Rule of Law promotion.

She is affiliated with international organizations including the ECPR Standing Group on Regulatory Policy, the International Public Policy Association, and Science for Democracy. Her recent publications explore regulatory design, futures literacy, and narrative influences in policy-making.
