Gadi Barlevy is a Senior Economist and Economic Advisor in the Economic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He is a member of the Microeconomics team, focusing on labor economics, economic fluctuations, growth, financial economics, and information economics. Barlevy holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University. Prior to joining the Chicago Fed in 2003, he was an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University and held visiting roles at Tel Aviv University, the Kellogg School of Management, and the University of Wisconsin School of Business.
His research explores themes such as asset price bubbles, monetary policy, labor markets, and financial market dynamics. He serves as a Research Fellow at the IZA Institute of Labor Economics and holds editorial roles at the Journal of Economic Theory and Theoretical Economics.
