Gabrielle Todd is Associate Professor of Neuroscience at UniSA Clinical & Health Sciences, University of South Australia. She leads the Neurophysiology of Human Movement Group and directs research on Parkinson's disease diagnosis and long-term effects of methamphetamine on movement.
Her research investigates neural control of movement with focus areas:
- Parkinson's disease early diagnosis using neuroimaging biomarkers (nigrosome-1, substantia nigra echogenicity)
- Long-term movement impairments from methamphetamine use
- Neurophysiological effects of substance abuse
- Physiology education core concept development
Awards and recognition include:
- NHMRC Fellowship
- Three prizes for research excellence
- Editorial Board Membership, Journal of Applied Physiology
She has secured funding for large multidisciplinary projects and regularly contributes to science communication through media engagement and community outreach.
