معرفی
Prof. Gabriele Travaglini is a Professor of Theoretical Physics at Queen Mary University of London, affiliated with the School of Physical and Chemical Sciences and the Centre for Fundamental Physics. His research focuses on scattering amplitudes in quantum field theory and gravity, with applications to gravitational wave studies and string theory. He coordinates major initiatives like the SAGEX network (2018–2022), training early-stage researchers in scattering amplitudes.
Research interests include hidden symmetries in quantum field theories, N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills, and supergravity. Recent work applies amplitude techniques to classical gravitational phenomena, such as black hole mergers. Key achievements include leadership in SAGEX, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie network, and awards like the Leverhulme Research Fellowship and Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Award.
Grants & Awards:
- Leverhulme Research Fellowship (2024–2025)
- Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award (2016)
- Faculty of Science and Engineering Research Achievement Award (2012)
- Former Associateship to the Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology (2011–2012)
- Nuclear Physics B Most Cited Article Award (2006–2010)
Supervision & Teaching: Supervised 11 PhD students, teaching advanced courses like Relativistic Waves and Quantum Fields. Current students include Pablo Vives Matasan (2023–).
Labs & Collaborations: Active in SAGEX and the Amplitudes, Strings, and Duality consortia, focusing on interdisciplinary applications of scattering amplitudes.
