Professor Gabriele Spilker is a Principal Investigator at the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality" at the University of Konstanz. She holds the chair for "International Politics – Global Inequality" and leads the Clusterproject "Climate Inequalities in the Global South: from Perceptions to Protest". Previously, she served as Assistant/Associate Professor of International Politics at the University of Salzburg (2014–2020) and Professor for Empirical Research Methods at the same department (2020–2021).
- PhD from ETH Zurich (2009) under the NCCR "Challenges to Democracy" program
- Fritz Thyssen Fellow at Harvard University (2011–2012)
- Postdoctoral researcher at ETH Zurich's Center for Comparative and International Studies (2012–2013)
Her research focuses on:
- Climate change impacts on inequality, migration, and conflict in the Global South
- Inequalities in perceptions of globalization processes
- Empirical methods applied to political science
She has published in prestigious journals including:

Recent highlights include building a research team to study climate and globalization-related inequalities. She is also an active member of Scientists for Future (S4F).
