معرفی
Professor Gabriele Gradoni is Chair in Wireless Communications at the University of Surrey and Full Professor of Applied Mathematics and Electrical Engineering at the University of Nottingham. He is a Royal Society Industry Fellow at British Telecommunications and holds adjunct/visiting roles at the University of Illinois and University of Cambridge.
His research bridges electromagnetics, wave chaos, and metasurfaces to advance wave propagation models for electromagnetic compatibility and next-generation wireless systems. He pioneered the random coupling model for chaotic wave systems and explores quantum-classical hybrid approaches for RIS optimization and terahertz communication.
Scientific Awards
- URSI Commission B Young Scientist Award (2010, 2016)
- Gaetano Latmiral Prize (2015)
- Honorable Mention IEEE TEMC Richard B. Schulz Transactions Prize Paper Award (2020)
His 15 most recent articles focus on terahertz metasurfaces, quantum RIS optimization, wave chaos in reverberation chambers, and physics-guided machine learning for real-time channel prediction. Keywords span wave propagation, quantum algorithms, 6G networks, and smart electromagnetic environments.
He contributes to IEEE standards, URSI leadership, and open-source code development for stochastic radiator characterization.
