Professor Gabriele Durrant is a Professor of Social Statistics & Survey Methodology at the University of Southampton, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences. She specializes in survey methodology, statistical modelling, and data collection strategies. Her research focuses on improving survey quality through innovations in paradata utilization, mixed-mode methodologies, and longitudinal study designs. She has led major projects funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), including the National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM) and the UK Survey Data Collection Methods Collaboration. Her work addresses challenges in non-response bias, interviewer effects, and adaptive survey designs. Currently supervising PhD student Atika Nashirah Hasyyati, she collaborates with institutions like the Administrative Data Research Centre for England and contributes to policy through methodological advancements.
