Gabriela Rendón is an Associate Professor of Urban Planning and Community Development at Parsons School of Design, The New School. She serves as co-coordinator of the Graduate Minor in Design and Urban Justice and Founding Director of the Parsons Housing Justice Lab, where she leads the Housing Justice Oral History Project integrating oral history, critical cartography, and community advocacy.
Her educational background includes:

- BS in Architecture, Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, Mexico
Rendón's research centers on housing justice, gentrification, and community-led urban transformation. She investigates socio-spatial restructuring in immigrant neighborhoods—particularly Latinx communities in Brooklyn—advocating for cooperative housing models and non-speculative development. Her transdisciplinary approach combines participatory action research with community organizing to advance equitable urban environments in profit-driven contexts.
Her publications reveal consistent focus on housing justice, community control, and alternative urban practices. Recent works examine Latinx neighborhood resilience and cohabitation strategies, emphasizing grassroots knowledge production and spatial justice. The forthcoming 2026 books deepen analysis of immigrant community revitalization and collective space production.

She founded the Parsons Housing Justice Lab and co-founded transnational collectives Urban Front and Cohabitation Strategies, creating platforms for community-led urban transformation exhibited at Venice Biennale, MoMA, and other major institutions.
