معرفی
Gabriel Vacariu is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Bucharest, where he has taught since 1997. His academic career spans over 25 years with a focus on developing and applying his Epistemologically Different Worlds (EDWs) framework across multiple disciplines including philosophy of mind, cognitive neuroscience, and physics.
- PhD from University of New South Wales (2008)
- Thesis: Epistemologically Different Worlds
- Referees: John Bickle (University of Cincinnati), Rom Harre (Oxford), Ilie Parvu (University of Bucharest)
Vacariu's research centers on his EDWs framework, which challenges traditional philosophical paradigms by proposing that reality consists of multiple epistemologically distinct worlds rather than a single unified universe. His work spans philosophy of mind (addressing the mind-body problem), cognitive neuroscience (arguing it may be a pseudo-science), quantum mechanics, and relativity theory. He has extensively published on topics including the rejection of physical laws, logical truths, and even the concept of God's existence.
His publications reveal a consistent pattern of applying the EDWs framework to dismantle traditional philosophical dichotomies across diverse fields. Rather than working within established paradigms, Vacariu consistently challenges foundational concepts in physics, mathematics, and cognitive science, arguing that many traditional problems are pseudo-problems resulting from incorrect epistemological frameworks.
Vacariu has supervised students working on his EDWs perspective, including a Master's student in Italy. His work has gained international recognition with translations of his books into Persian and mentions in Iranian newspapers. He has presented at international conferences including the World Gene Convention in Japan and has been invited to speak at physics departments including Pabna University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh.
His academic activities extend beyond traditional philosophy into interdisciplinary areas, with presentations connecting his EDWs framework to cognitive neuroscience, physics, and even film analysis, particularly focusing on Andrei Tarkovsky's works.
