Gabriel Fries-Briggs

Gabriel Fries-Briggs is an Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico School of Architecture and Planning. He holds an M.Arch from Princeton University and a B.A. from Columbia University. His research focuses on architectural representation, computational culture, and material processes. He co-founded Reimaging, a platform exploring future architectural production, and 2426, a Los Angeles-based space for architectural production and exhibitions. Previously, he taught at UCLA and contributed to publications like Project, Pidgin, and ARPA Journal.

His work bridges theory and practice through projects like Descriptive Services, an architectural practice exploring digital culture and material techniques. Key awards include the 2018 Arts Initiative Grant and the 2014 Henry Adams Certificate. He has exhibited widely, including at Harvard GSD and the A+D Museum in Los Angeles.

Teaching includes courses like ARCH 603 (Masters Architectural Design III) and ARCH 634 (Systems Integration I). His research emphasizes the intersection of historical architectural problems with modern imaging and fabrication technologies.
