Gabe H. Miller

Gabe H. Miller is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He holds multiple affiliations including Associate Scientist roles at UAB's School of Medicine (Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research and Education, Center for AIDS Research, and Minority Health & Research Center), and serves as Associate Director of the School of Public Health. His research focuses on political and policy determinants of racial and LGBT+ health disparities, integrating medical sociology, political epidemiology, and critical race theory.

Miller earned his BA, MA, and PhD in Political Science and Sociology from Texas A&M University. His work explores intersections between race, gender identity, and public policy, with notable studies on transgender health outcomes, Black immigrant health behaviors, and LGBTQ+ policy impacts.

His recent publications analyze topics such as transgender workplace discrimination, health disparities among Black immigrants, and systemic barriers to healthcare access. Miller's multidisciplinary contributions bridge sociology with public health, emphasizing structural inequities and policy interventions to achieve health equity.
