Fırat Sefaoğlu is an Associate Professor at Kastamonu University's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Genetics and Bioengineering. He holds a PhD in Field Crops Breeding from Atatürk University (2017), with prior academic roles as a teaching staff member since 2018.
- Education: BSc, MSc, and PhD in Field Crop Breeding from Atatürk University
- Research Focus: Industrial plants, stress tolerance in crops, sustainable agriculture
His research spans industrial crops, plant stress responses, and agronomic optimizations, particularly in semi-arid and high-altitude environments. Key areas include nanoparticle applications for stress mitigation, fertilizer management, and genetic adaptation studies in sunflower, safflower, and sugar beet.
Recent publications analyze titanium dioxide nanoparticles in safflower, organic-inorganic fertilizer combinations in potatoes, and genotype-environment interactions in sunflower cultivation. Collaborations with Volkan Gül and Erdoğan Öztürk appear frequently.
He currently supervises master's students in projects related to Helianthus annuus and Solanum tuberosum stress responses. His work contributes to Turkey's agricultural practices through field trials and stress-tolerance evaluations.
