Assoc. Prof. Fırat Ertaç Durak is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Dumlupınar University. He holds a PhD in Electrical-Electronics from Dumlupınar University (2013-2017), an MSc from the same institution (2009-2012), and a BSc from Kocaeli University (2004-2008). His academic roles include Director of Research and Application Center (2023–present) and Vice President of the Department (2022–present). He has extensive experience in fiber optic systems, sensor applications, and communication systems.
Research interests focus on fiber optic amplifiers (EDFA), sensor systems, and photonics. He has contributed to projects like spectral gain measurement of EDFA using saturation tones and development of stable pulsed fiber lasers. He teaches courses such as Electro-Optical System Analysis and Fiber Optic Communication Systems.
His work includes over 20 peer-reviewed articles in journals like Optical Engineering and Journal of Lightwave Technology, emphasizing fiber optic technologies and laser systems. He actively participates in IEEE and organizes research in photonics and optical communication.
