Fynnwin Prager

Fynnwin Prager is a Professor of Public Administration, Director of the School of Public Service and Justice, and Co-Director of the South Bay Economics Institute at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He holds a PhD in Policy, Planning, and Development from the University of Southern California and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the USC Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events.

Dr. Prager's research focuses on the policy and economics of disasters, particularly environmental and terrorism policy, as well as regional economies and transportation systems. His work has been published in journals including Risk Analysis, International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, and Transportation Research Part A. He has authored two books: Terrorism: An International Perspective (with Gus Martin) and Economic Consequence Analysis of Disasters (with Adam Rose).

He has secured research funding from organizations such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. National Biosurveillance Integration Center, California Air Resources Board, and World Trade Center Los Angeles. Dr. Prager actively mentors students through capstone courses and integrates classroom teaching with real-world policy analysis.

As Director of the School of Public Service and Justice and Co-Director of the South Bay Economics Institute, he leads initiatives focused on regional economic development and public service education. His teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking and technical excellence, informed by his multicultural background growing up in Leeds, UK.
