Funké Aladejebi is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of Toronto (St. George campus). A scholar specializing in 20th-century Black Canadian history, she employs oral narratives to examine the intersections of race, gender, migration, and education in Canada.

Research Focus: Her work traces how Black Canadian women navigated educational systems to create anti-racist pedagogies and preserve cultural identities. She also investigates Canada’s role in Black Internationalism through education recruitment programs in Canada, the Caribbean, and Africa.
