Fruzsina Stefan

Fruzsina Stefan is an MSc researcher at the Institute of Landscape Development, Recreation and Conservation Planning, affiliated with the Department of Landscape, Water and Infrastructure at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). She holds a Master of Science in Architecture with a specialization in Sustainable Urban Design from the Faculty of Engineering (2017–2019).

Her research focuses on sustainable urban design, landscape planning, GIS applications, and recreational behavior, particularly in urban fringe areas and peri-urban contexts. She explores digitalization’s role in leisure mobility monitoring and the integration of ecosystem services mapping with geoinformation data.

Scientific awards include three 2020 recognitions: 1. Preis in two design competitions and an Auszeichnung: Anerkennung for landscape architecture projects in Austria.

She has collaborated internationally, with lectures given in Austria, Germany, Poland, and participated in projects such as ForRest, which leverages big data for forest recreation monitoring.
