Fritz Fischer is a Professor of History at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), affiliated with the Department of History within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. He holds positions in Ross Hall and has taught since 1995. His professional experience includes roles at Northwestern University and high school teaching positions in California. Fischer has been recognized for outstanding teaching, receiving the American Historical Association's Eugene Asher Award (2016) and UNC's Sears-Helgoth Distinguished Teaching Award (2015).
He holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in History from Stanford University and Northwestern University, respectively. His research focuses on History Education, the Peace Corps' role in U.S. foreign relations, and controversies surrounding U.S. history curricula.
