Friederike Schmidt, MA, is a Research Associate affiliated with the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich's Institute of Near and Middle Eastern Studies. She was actively involved in sub-project B05 of the Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) 950, titled "Forms and Functions of Layout in Arabic Manuscripts as Based on Copies of Religious Texts," during 2014–2015. Her work focuses on manuscript studies, particularly the structural and visual elements of religious texts in Arabic script.
