Frida Pemer serves as Associate Professor at the Department of Management and Organization and House of Innovation at Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). She also holds positions as Docent at the Department of Management and Organization and Research Fellow at the Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology. Pemer leads the research group Future of Expertise (FOX) and has held visiting researcher positions at Scancor, Stanford University, and Saïd Business School, Oxford University.
Her research centers on digital transformation and professional services, with particular focus on how digitalization, robotization and AI lead to profound changes in professional service firms. Pemer has received substantial research funding from prestigious sources including Marianne and Marcus Wallenbergs Stiftelse, Handelsbanken, Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, Forte, and AFA Försäkring for projects examining topics such as human-machine interfaces, remote work time perception, ChatGPT implementation, organizational ecosystems for learning, and leadership in distance collaboration.
Pemer's scholarly output demonstrates consistent focus on digital disruption in professional services, with recent publications examining generative AI, virtual teamwork, professional identity formation during the pandemic, and the emergence of tech-based management consultancies.
