Frej Mighri is a Full Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Laval University. He is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), the Research Center for High-Performance Polymer and Composite Systems (CREPEC), and the Oral Ecology Research Group (GREB). He has been actively involved in research and academic leadership since joining Laval University in 2003.

His research focuses on functional polymer nanocomposites, with applications in energy, biotechnology, and tissue engineering. Key areas include conductive polymers, electrospinning, rheology, and polymer processing. He has contributed significantly to the development of materials for fuel cells, solar cells, and biomedical scaffolds.
His recent publications highlight advancements in conductive polymer composites, flexible photoanodes for solar cells, and novel foaming techniques for tissue engineering scaffolds. The research spans materials synthesis, characterization, and performance evaluation, with strong emphasis on practical applications.

Dr. Mighri has supervised numerous graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in chemical engineering. He leads major research projects funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), including Discovery and Alliance Grants, as well as collaborations with industrial partners such as Lux Image Inc., Prima Québec, and Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc.
He is a key member of the Research Center for High-Performance Polymer and Composite Systems (CREPEC), a strategic interuniversity research group in Quebec, and contributes to interdisciplinary research through GREB. His work bridges fundamental polymer science with applied technologies in energy and biomedicine.
