Fredrik Iredahl is an Associate Professor and Docent at Linköping University, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (MEDFAK). His primary department is the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences (HMV), within the Division of Prevention, Rehabilitation and Community Medicine (PRNV). His research focuses on microvascular and metabolic responses in the skin, metabolic disease complications, and clinical applications of biomedical imaging techniques. He leads the EPSOMiP project, exploring links between fatty liver, epicardial fat, and cardiovascular disease in type 2 diabetes patients.
Key collaborations include colleagues such as Ingemar Fredriksson (Adjunct Associate Professor), Joakim Henricson (Senior Associate Professor), and Tomas Strömberg (Professor). His work integrates clinical research with engineering innovations, such as laser speckle contrast imaging and multispectral imaging for microcirculation analysis.
Recent articles highlight studies on coronary CT angiography in primary care, day-to-day variability in skin microcirculation, and predictors of sleep apnea in diabetic patients. His research bridges basic science with clinical applications, aiming to improve diagnostics and patient care in metabolic and cardiovascular disorders.
