Frederick S. Ahiabor is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at De Montfort University (DMU), based in the Leicester Castle Business School under the Faculty of Business and Law. He serves as Programme Leader for the Finance and Investment (BSc) programme and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Previously, he worked as an Assistant Lecturer in Economics and Finance at Loughborough University.

Frederick's research focuses on infrastructure and project finance, ESG and renewable energy, financial technology (Fintech), and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning to promote financial inclusion and economic development in emerging and developing countries. His interdisciplinary approach bridges finance, sustainability, and technological innovation.
His recent publications span key areas including renewable energy policy in Ghana, political risk in G7 financial markets, project finance loan pricing, and cross-border mergers. These works reflect a consistent focus on institutional, environmental, and technological factors shaping financial systems globally, particularly in developing contexts.

Frederick has served as a reviewer for several leading journals and is affiliated with the Institute for Responsible Business and Social Justice at DMU. He teaches courses such as Financial Econometrics, Artificial Intelligence in Finance, Fintech, Green Finance, and Mathematics & Statistics. He is also a member of the International Finance and Banking Society (IFABS) and the International Network of Scholars in Infrastructure and Project Finance (INSPF).
He leads the Finance and Investment (BSc) programme and contributes to curriculum development in sustainable and technology-driven finance education.
