Frederick Keith Staudmyer serves as Associate Professor and Chair of Film, Television and Media Arts at Quinnipiac University, holding an MFA in film with screenwriting concentration from Columbia University and a BA from New York University.

His creative research centers on screenwriting and biographical storytelling, evidenced by award-winning short films and feature biopics on Orson Welles (Too Much Johnson: A Mercury Theatre Production) and Ernest Hemingway (Isn't it Pretty to Think So), the latter researched during a University of Innsbruck course in the Austrian Alps. Current projects include the animated film Dolasilla of the Dolomites based on Ladin epic poetry and LatinX-themed pilots Makul and Jaguar Blood.
His work has earned recognition including:
- Albert Schweitzer fellowship
- Fulbright Scholar alternate candidacy
- Multiple international film festival awards (Cannes, Sitges, Madrid, New Orleans)
Staudmyer teaches undergraduate courses including FTM 102 Understanding Film, FTM 372 Screenwriting, and FTM 493 Senior Project Colloquy while leading the department as Chair. His industry experience includes story analysis for Walt Disney Studios and writing for Nickelodeon series Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures and The Troop.
