Frederick J Miller

Frederick J Miller is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Art and Art History at The University of Texas at Arlington. He holds a BS in Architecture from UTA (1996) and an MFA in Metalsmithing from the University of Washington (2002). His interdisciplinary practice combines drawing, sculpture, glasswork, metalwork, and electronics, drawing inspiration from mid-century aesthetics while exploring futuristic concepts.

Miller's research focuses on experimental material usage, ancient civilizations, and scientific/astronomical phenomena. He emphasizes original, concept-driven creation and avoids repetitive production methods.

With 16+ years of teaching experience at UTA, he has instructed diverse courses including glass blowing, metalsmithing, 2D/3D design, and drawing. He values mentoring both foundational students and advanced learners developing conceptual depth.
