Research Interests
Frédéric’s work interrogates the intersections of self, history, and urban architecture through photography, writing, and film. His practice-driven research re-maps cities intuitively and libidinally, mediating temporal dimensions in photographic representation. He challenges historiographic concepts like abstraction and exteriority via a paradoxical engagement with unfathomable histories, mirroring melancholia’s unresolved object-loss. Prior research explored déjà vu in Los Angeles through cultural aberrations, cinematicity, and architectural excess, blending theoretical and creative writing with photography.
