Fred H. Cate

Fred H. Cate is a Distinguished Professor and C. Ben Dutton Professor of Law at Indiana University's Maurer School of Law, with an Adjunct Professor appointment in Informatics and Computing. He served as Vice President for Research at Indiana University from 2015–2023 and chairs the National Academies Committee on Law Enforcement Access to Encrypted Content.
