Franziska Vehling is a Lecturer at the Center for Dutch Studies (ZNS) at the University of Münster. She holds a Master's degree in Dutch Studies from the University of Vienna and Leiden University. Her work focuses on language acquisition, media and cultural studies, intercultural teaching methodologies, and Dutch-German relations. She has taught Dutch as a foreign/second language at institutions like the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and currently teaches courses such as 'Dutch Culture in Transition' and 'Media and Media Systems'.
Her research emphasizes second language acquisition (particularly Dutch), the role of storytelling in language education (TPRS), and the intersection of media, culture, and history. She manages the ZNS's social media and website, and coordinates the 'Euroregional Education Chain (EDL)' project. She has also contributed to the binational MA program and supports alumni networking.
Her academic trajectory includes a thesis on speech anxiety in language teaching and extensive experience in curriculum development for intercultural communication. She maintains active engagement in Dutch Studies through teaching, research, and institutional outreach.
