Univ.-Prof. Dr. Franziska Müller holds the Professorship for International Development at the University of Vienna, with a focus on socio-ecological transformations. She serves as deputy head of the Institute for International Development and teaches courses like "Surviving in the Anthropocene" and "Global Environmental Governance.
- Education: MA in Political Science, Cultural Anthropology, and Economics at Tübingen, Birmingham, and Frankfurt (2007-2010)
- PhD: "In the Name of Liberal Norms? Governmentality and Normative Power in EU-ACP Relations" (Kassel/TU Darmstadt, 2013)
Her research spans climate justice, green colonialism, energy governance in Africa, and decolonial frameworks. She employs qualitative methods to analyze power dynamics in global environmental policies and energy transitions.
Key contributions include coordinating the BMBF-funded "GLOCALPOWER" project (2017-2023) and leading interdisciplinary research on green hydrogen and extractivism in sub-Saharan Africa.
