Franziska Arnold-Dwyer is an Associate Professor of Law at University College London's Faculty of Laws. Previously, she held academic roles at Queen Mary University of London, including Reader and Director of the Insurance, Shipping & Aviation Law Institute. She is a qualified solicitor with litigation experience at Clifford Chance, and her research focuses on reinsurance law, climate change resilience, and the intersection of insurance law with sustainability goals. She actively contributes to UN initiatives, including COP27/28, and serves on editorial boards of leading law journals.

Her research prioritizes leveraging insurance frameworks to address climate challenges and advance UN SDGs. She co-authored Insurance, Climate Change and the Law (2024), which won the 2024 InsuranceERM Award, and Insurable Interest and the Law (2020), honored by the BILA Book Prize. She is a Rapporteur for UNIDROIT’s Principles of Reinsurance Contract Law and a core member of the Zurich Forum on Transnational Insurance Law.
Teaching includes LLB Contract Law, LLM Insurance Law, and executive reinsurance courses. She advises regulators, testified before the House of Lords, and collaborates with industry on training programs.
