Franz Graf is a Lecturer at the University of Vienna's Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology and Fellows Program Coordinator at the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM). His research examines environmental anthropology, neo-paganism, medical anthropology, and meaning-making practices in Mexico, New Zealand, and England.
He explores ecological subjectivity, animistic socialities, and ritual mediatization through ethnography and visual methods. Key publications analyze the transnational appropriation of Mexican curanderismo, modern paganism, and critiques of late modernity.
