Franklin Deese

Franklin Deese is an Associate Professor in the School of Film and Animation at RIT's College of Art and Design. With an MFA from UCLA, he specializes in screenwriting for film and television. His research analyzes historical and sociopolitical impacts of media, notably through his Reel Impact series examining how films like Patton and The China Syndrome shape public discourse.

Teaching: Leads courses in short/feature/series screenwriting, dramatic structure, and thesis development. His pedagogy emphasizes narrative construction across genres and formats.
