Franklin Berkey

Franklin Berkey, DO is a Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine. He serves as Associate Director of the Family and Community Medicine Residency Program at Mount Nittany Medical Center, overseeing both outpatient and inpatient resident education. His clinical practice spans the full scope of family medicine with a focus on end-of-life care and house call services in rural Pennsylvania.

Dr. Berkey holds board certifications in Family Medicine (2005–2025) and Hospice & Palliative Care (2012–2022). He has served as Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at Mount Nittany Medical Center (2014–2020) and currently serves as Elected Medical Staff Officer there. His educational leadership includes roles with the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors and Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.
