Dr. Frank Schwebel is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico (UNM) and a licensed clinical psychologist. He is affiliated with the Center on Alcohol, Substance use, And Addictions (CASAA), the Texting Experiment Team (TExT Lab), and collaborates with the Addictive Behaviors and Quantitative (ABQ) Research Lab and Mechanisms of Addiction Treatment and Ecological Observations (MATEO) Lab.

His research focuses on developing digital health interventions for addictive behaviors, with a specialization in mindfulness-based approaches for opioid use disorder and chronic pain. He employs machine learning and advanced quantitative methods, including ecological momentary assessment (EMA) and multilevel network analysis, to study substance use dynamics in college students and pregnant populations.
