Frank H Miller is a Professor of Radiology and holds the Lee F. Rogers, MD, Professorship of Medical Education at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. As Chief of Body Imaging in the Department of Radiology, he specializes in abdominal imaging, particularly focusing on liver, pancreatic, and biliary disorders. His work integrates advanced imaging techniques like MRI and CT with AI-driven approaches to improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.
Research Interests: Dr. Miller’s research emphasizes optimizing MRI and CT protocols for detecting and characterizing hepatobiliary malignancies (e.g., hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma) and pancreatic cystic lesions. He has pioneered studies on magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) for non-invasive liver fibrosis assessment and developed AI tools to predict pancreatic cancer progression using radiomics. His work also addresses ethical challenges in medical imaging AI and improving diagnostic workflows in genitourinary imaging.
Publications Trends: His recent work spans AI ethics in medical imaging, predictive modeling of pancreatic cancer using longitudinal CT features, and standardized protocols like LI-RADS for liver lesions. He has led multi-center studies on federated learning for pancreatic cyst risk assessment and radiomics-based prostate MRI analysis.
Honors & Leadership: As an endowed professor, Miller’s contributions to medical education and clinical radiology have been recognized institutionally. He actively participates in national radiology societies, including the Society of Abdominal Radiology, to advance imaging standards and clinician training.
Labs & Teams: He leads the Body Imaging Division at Northwestern, overseeing a team focused on translational research in abdominal imaging technologies and AI integration into clinical practice.
