Frank Fisher

Frank Fisher is a Professor and Associate Dean at Stevens Institute of Technology's Schaefer School of Engineering and Science, with appointments in Mechanical Engineering since 2004. His research focuses on polymer nanocomposites, nanomechanics, and engineering education. Fisher holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and dual BS degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.

His research explores shear-induced crystallization in polymer nanocomposites, nanomechanics of reinforced polymers, and industry-compatible processing techniques. Educational research includes adaptive expertise development in STEM students and evidence-based teaching practices.

Fisher's publications demonstrate strong focus on nanomaterials processing/structure-property relationships and engineering pedagogy. Recent work examines adaptive expertise measurement and carbon nanotube-polymer interactions.
