Dr. Frank Elwell serves as the Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Psychology and Sociology at Rogers State University (RSU). He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the State University of New York at Albany, an M.A. in Sociology from SUNY Albany, an M.S. in Political Science/Education from SUNY New Paltz, and a B.S. in History/Education from Eastern Michigan University.
His research focuses on sociological theory, social evolution, cultural ecology, and liberal arts education. Notable works include Macrosociology: Four Modern Theorists and Sociocultural Systems: The Contemporary Expression of Classical Theory. He has held leadership roles such as Dean of the School of Liberal Arts at RSU and Chairman of the Sociology Department at Murray State University.
Elwell’s publications span classical sociological analysis, macrosociology, and critiques of contemporary societal structures. His professional service includes roles on major university committees, including the Academic Council at RSU and the Higher Learning Commission Accreditation Steering Committee. He actively contributes to community organizations like the Claremore Symphony League and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Green County.
